The Brand

JUST EAT is an online service that helps hungry Canadians order delivery and takeout from local restaurants through their website or on the JUST EAT App. They’re active in 13 countries, processing nearly a quarter of a million orders combined on a daily basis, globally.

The Objective

Leo Burnett (Just Eat’s national advertising agency) developed their brand strategy and positioning. As their local Vancouver partner agency, we were tasked to develop and execute a local campaign that is in line with Just Eat’s brand. The objective was to create more awareness for their business in Vancouver, to increase their user base and market share, and generate buzz on social media, online and traditional media.

What We’ve Done

With less than a month to plan and execute our campaign, we planned, storyboarded, casted, shot, and promoted a video. The video was designed to put a local spin on their national TV spot (The ’Out-Double’). We also partnered with well-known local Instagram influencers to takeover their accounts for a few days. In addition, we ran a social media campaign to give people an opportunity to win an Out Double for a day. We pitched the video / concept to local media, getting it more exposure in the press which was supported by full site buyouts on publications like Metro and Daily Hive.



The Results

The video received 20,000+ hits on YouTube within a week.

The influencer campaign generated 900+ Likes on Instagram, 14,000+ views on YouTube.

Paid and organic PR efforts which had over 800,000 impressions/views.

Mobile app and new user signups in the target region increased by over 20% within a month.
